133. Best Friend

I took this photograph of my best friend Miles just days ago. He appears happy and healthy except today we discovered it's not true. He couldn't stand well so we brought him to the vet and now know that his body is riddled with cancer. It's not months or weeks but possibly a couple of days if we are lucky. He is 12 and honestly that is close to the life expectancy of a dog his size but that doesn't make it easier. So sad.

  1. I'm so sorry to hear this Wendy, my heart goes out to you and your family. It is amazing how well dogs hide pain and suffering from us - it isn't usually until the very end that we are aware of anything wrong. We had a golden named Brandy that died in 2007 that didn't show symptoms until a week before she passed. Dogs just keep taking care of us until their bodies just give out - their hearts never do.

  2. I'm sorry to hear about miles, wish it wasn't true. It was one of the hardest things i had to go through with my maddie in march. I'll say a prayer for him . tj
